Pink Ribbon Pakistan

Founder’s Message

Omer-sb

109 women die every 24 hours due to breast cancer in Pakistan. Over 40,000 deaths a year with an addition of 90,000 new breast cancer cases annually is a matter of serious concern. Although, timely diagnosis and proper treatment can increase survival chances of breast cancer patients up to 90%.

From creating year-around nationwide breast cancer awareness to forming impactful alliances with the governments and private organizations to judicial advocacy through Supreme Court; Pink Ribbon has successfully transformed the tabooed topic of ‘breast cancer’ to an active ‘National Health Agenda’.

On the other hand, we are building Pakistan’s 1st dedicated Breast Cancer Hospital which is now 60% complete. The hospital aims to provide world-class diagnosis and treatment services including OPD, Ultrasound, Mammogram, Chemotherapy, Surgery, and in-patient facility to 40,000 breast cancer patients annually.

Pink Ribbon is a charity organization that purely depends on public philanthropy in the form of Zakat, Sadaqat, and Donations.

We believe saving thousands of precious lives of mothers, sisters, and daughters is our collective responsibility.

We urge you to step forward and help us timely complete the remaining 40% of Pakistan’s 1st dedicated Breast Cancer Hospital. Your help, however big or small, can turn a victim into a survivor.

Wishing you and your loved ones health and peace.

Mission

Our mission is to prevent and cure breast cancer by creating widespread awareness through community engagement on prevention, early detection and increased access to treatment.

Vision

We are envisioning a future where breast cancer victims will be treated with world class healthcare technology. We are setting up Pakistan’s first dedicated BREAST CANCER HOSPITAL in Lahore which will, significantly, reduce breast cancer mortality in Pakistan. In our Journey towards a cancer free Pakistan, we are committed to build more breast cancer hospitals in the future.

At the outset in 2004, talking about Breast Cancer was not easy in the society where this fatal disease was largely associated with female sexuality, but Pink Ribbon campaigned so effectively that not only the taboo was broken and Breast Cancer was included in the narrative of mainstream media but also the government acknowledged the cause and made Breast Cancer a priority in national health agenda.
This impressive campaign of spreading Breast Cancer awareness and building alliances with the public and corporate sector organization led Pink Ribbon to win IPRA Frontline Golden World Award. Pink Ribbon continued its struggle over the years, achieving one milestone after another. Gradually, we moved from campaigning and advocacy to service delivery and launched National Breast Cancer Screen Program through Mobile Mammogram Units.
Realizing the utmost need of quality healthcare facilities for Breast Cancer, Pink Ribbon laid the foundation of Pakistan’s first dedicated Breast Cancer Hospital. The hospital building consists of two blocks, block A is complete, whereas, construction work on block B is in progress. The hospital is providing free-of-cost clinical examinations to patients. Support Pink Ribbon to defeat Breast Cancer.
