Coronavirus Has Been Affecting Breast Cancer Patients And Here’s How You Can Help
While the ongoing pandemic has impacted people globally, it’s also impacting people severely here in Pakistan. Many of those people who are impacted are already suffering due to pre-existing conditions. The coronavirus has been unkind to breast cancer patients as well.
40,000 women die of breast cancer every year in Pakistan.
On top of that, COVID-19 has been lethal for breast cancer patients. The mortality rate of breast cancer patients can increase in the coming years because of the coronavirus.
This outbreak also served as a reality check as to how we need more healthcare facilities, now more than ever.
That’s where Pink Ribbon Hospital is stepping in.
Pink Ribbon is in the process of completing the construction of Pakistan’s first dedicated breast cancer hospital. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, their Ramzan Donation Drive has been seriously affected.
The plan for Pink Ribbon Hospital is to have state-of-the-art breast cancer diagnostic and treatment facilities. These will then, in turn, serve over 40,000 patients per year.
Some of the construction (12,000 square feet of grey structure) has been completed, thanks to the help of the general public. However, the hospital needs your help through donations to complete this project.
